The philosophy of Tama Art University is "freedom and willpower."
"Freedom" means the freedom of imagination to create new art without interference from anything. "Willpower" is the strength of will to build a world of expression that is unique, and the power to keep it going. The freedom and self-discipline of expression, as well as the continuity and inheritance of will, are consistent on the surface and inside. In order to learn both, what is most needed is the professionalism and comprehensiveness of understanding and practicing art. The arts are the foundation of all kinds of learning, bringing richness to life, creating new values for society, and creating true culture.
According to the philosophy of the University, our mission is to cultivate human resources who are able to establish themselves in the arts and proactively develop the future in a diverse and complex modern society.
