The 4th ATEC International Forum Opens in Beijing (Seminar 1)

   


The 4th ATEC International Forum Opened in the Central Academy of Drama, China in the afternoon of May 18th, 2009.

The Forum was hosted by Sports, Health and Arts Education Department under the Ministry of Education China and Asia Theatre Education Center, executed by the Central Academy of Drama. Prof. Xu Xiang - the General Secretary of ATEC, Ms. Wan Lijun - Director of Sports, Health and Arts Education Department Ministry of Education China, Mr. Wang Feng - Director of Education, Science and Technology Department Ministry of Culture, Mr. Wang Xiaoying - Vice president of Chinese Theatre Artists Association, Prof. Dumitriu - Chairholder of UNESCO ITI-Chair, attended the opening ceremony and made the speech to extend their congratulations to the Forum and to encourage participants to promote the development of theatre education in Asia by communicating with each other. All the guests and participants watched the showcase on Acting & Directing Teaching by the Central Academy of Drama.

From May 19th to May 21st, experts from the Central Academy of Drama (China), Nihon University (Japan), Chung-Ang University (Republic of Korea), Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Singapore), National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts (China), The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (China), National School or Drama (India) and National Institute of Dramatic Art (Australia) will participate in the seminars of the Forum. There will be the performance of Three Sisters, Last Summer in Chulimsk and Dream of Sancho by National School or Drama (India), Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture, (Mongolia) and Chung-Ang University (Republic of Korea).
