The 5^th ATEC International Forum with the 1^st Asian Theatre Schools Festival was held on 18^th to 23^rd May 2010 in the Central Academy of Drama China. The Forum which lasted for one day was sponsored by the Department of Physical Health and Arts Education, Ministry of Education China and the ATEC Office, undertook by the Central Academy of Drama, co-organized by the China Education TV. Those experts and scholars from 22 theatre schools home and abroad made an approach to the theme “The Teaching and Practice of Theatre Management”. The Festival continued for five days included 9 performances from 7 countries presented.

The Opening Ceremony was held in Experimental Theatre on 18^th May, 3 pm. in the afternoon. Yang Guiren, the Director of the Department of P.E., Publish Health and Art Education China, Wang Feng, the Deputy Director of Education & Science Department of Ministry of Culture China, Wang Xiaoying, the Vice President of Chinese Theatre Association China, Dumitriu Corneliu, the chair holder of UNESCO Chair-ITI, Xu Xiang, the Director of ATEC and President of the Central Academy of Drama China made speeches.

Teachers and students from theatre schools home and abroad, including the Central Academy of Drama China, the Nihon University College of Art Japan, Chung-Ang University Korea, Nanyang Academy of Fine Art Singapore, National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts China, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts China, National School of Drama India, National School of Art Uzbekistan, Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema Viet Nam, Chung Woon University Korea, National School of Art and Culture Mongolia, Toho Gakeun College of Drama and Art Japan, University of the Phillippines, and correspondents from over ten domestic news media attended the Opening Ceremony and watched musical pieces FAME performed by the Central Academy of Drama, China.
