The 8th ATEC International Forum was held in Singapore

          


From May 17th to 19th, the ATEC 8th International Forum was held in Singapore, hosted by the ATEC, co-organized by Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore. The theme of this forum was “Contemporary Approaches to Staging Classical Works in Relation to Drama School Teaching & Training”, 22 theatre schools and groups from Asia and other parts of the world participated in this forum, 120 persons in total.


   


At the opening ceremony, Mr Sam Tan Chin Siong, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, gave the message and highly praised the achievements of ATEC from 2005 when it is established. XU Xiang, the ATEC General Secretary, President of Central Academy of Drama China addressed that the past 8 years of ATEC has successfully summarized theatre education experience of the Asian-Pacific region, gradually deepened mutual understanding between excellent theatre schools in the world, effectively promoted the development of Asian theatre education. Choo Thiam Siew, Executive Director, Director of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, warmly welcomed all experts and scholars participated, sincerely expressed his honor to host the forum. The forum was held on the occasion of 75th anniversary of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, the academy was one of the ATEC inaugural members, and the first higher art education institution in Singapore.


   

   

At this forum, Tangyin and Qiuxiang performed byNanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore, and TheTempest performed by the 3rd year student of the acting department from our academy were staged.


  


Prof. Xu Xiang, the Director-General of ATEC, issued a certificate of appreciation to the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, expressing his high appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to the participating institutions for their hard work in successfully hosting the 8th ATEC International Forum.
