The 9th ATEC International Forum Kicked Off in Colombia

    


The 9th ATEC International Forum was hosted by the Asian Theatre Education Center (ATEC) and undertaken by the Universidad del Valle, Colombia from May 19th to May 22nd, 2015, themed as "Game-playing in Theatre Pedagogy". All participants submitted a total of 16 papers in which 12 were selected. There are 7 master classes and 10 performances in the Forum. 140 representatives from 15 drama schools in 14 countries and regions participated in the Forum. Besides, there are 4 international organizations and art groups in the conference, as well as 3 special guests.

The opening ceremony was held on the evening of May 19 at the Provincial Theater. Ivan Enrique Ramos Calderon, Rector of Del Valle University, Xu Xiang, General-Director of ATEC and President of the Central Academy of Drama, and Tobias Biancone, Director-General of the International Theatre Association, delivered the speech.


   


On May 19, the representatives discussed and passed the new appointment, the 9th financial accounting plan, the 10th budget report, the 9th Activities Report and the 10th Activities Plan in the meeting. The meeting also discussed the proposal of holding the 2nd World Theater Education Convention with the 4th ATEC International Theatre Festival at the Mongolian National University of Art and Culture in 2016.



There were 10 performances in the forum, including "Macbeth" by the Central Academy of Drama, "Orphans of Zhao" by the Shanghai Theater Academy, "Night Mother" by the Mongolian National University of Arts and Culture, "Dialogue with Dogs" by Universidad del Valle, "Story in Africa" by the Branch Campus of Universidad del Valle, as well as performances from other art schools in Colombia.
