There were 3 workshops held during the Theatre Festival on May 19th-20th, 2018.
The workshop themed as "Integration of Asian Traditional Topics to Modern Actors Training" from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Brunei focus on Asian traditional tissu, Batik from Indonesia and Malaysia and Jongsarat from Brinei for example. The workshop tried to integrate the traditional sympols as a part of human's body based on the topic of "the journey of life". It combines traditional body languages with modern ones to express the orientation and destination of human via a series of modern acting training.
The workshop of "Mask" from Chung-Ang University, Korea focuses on the way to use people's voice and action and to use them in mask acting. The participants learned the characters of different masks and the differences between half-face masks and full-face ones.
The workshop of "The Use of Abstract Elements in Modern Acting" was hosted by Prof. Jiang Ruoyu. The workshop focuses on "true emotion" and leads to detailed emotional experience and memory by irritating the strong belief within participants. With the great imagination, it helps to better play the characters and to transfer emotion to all the audiences. The workshop got a warm welcome from students from Japan. Korea, Brinei.
