At 9 am of May 21, 2009, the 4th ATEC General Assembly was held at the Central Academy of Drama (CAD), China. The meeting was hosted by Executive Director Hara Ippei, and chaired by Executive Director Choo Thiam Siew. The meeting started with Director-General Xu Xiang’s speech, in which he reviewed the journey of ATEC in the past 4 years and wished ATEC a bright future. During the meeting, the attendees deliberated and passed the 4th Work Report and Financial Accounting Report, the 5th Work Plan and Financial Budget, the changes in personnel, the application by 3 schools to become ATEC’s new members, among other propositions. It was also decided that the ATEC 5th International Forum with the 1st Asian Theatre Schools Festival would be held at CAD from May 18 to 21, 2010. The new applicants were Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts (Uzbekistan), Chungwoon University (Korea), and Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema (Vietnam).
