"The 10th International Forum on Asia Theatre Education" opened at the Theatre Center, Changping campus, the Central Academy of Drama on the afternoon of May 18th, 2017. The forum was co-hosted by Art Education Committee of Ministry of Education and Asia Theatre Education Centre (ATEC) and organized by the Central Academy of Drama, which got the strong support from the International Theatre Institute.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Hao Rong, vice chairman of ATEC and vice president of the the Central Academy of Drama and addressed by Wan Lijun, associate counsel of the Sports Health and Art Education Department, Ministry of Education and secretary-general of Art Education Committee of Ministry of Education, Xu Xiang, chairman of ATEC and president of the Central Academy of Drama and Tobias Biancone, director general of the International Theatre Institute. Liu Libin, director of School Affairs Committee and secretary of the Party committee of the Central Academy of Drama, awarded a Medal for Mr.Giogri Margvelashvili, president of Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film, Georgia State University, for his contributions to China's and the world's theatre, film and television education in the past three years at the opening ceremony.
The students from the Peking Opera Department, Western Opera Department and Dance Theatre Department of the Central Academy of Drama, Korea National University of Arts, Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film, Georgia State University and Mongolia University of Arts and Culture(MUAC)presented a wonderful opening performance for the audience.
Themed as ”Text and Stage”, the 10th International Forum on Asia Theatre Education received 16 papers from 10 colleges and universities and four dance presentations were made during the forum. There are total 118 representatives attending the forum who are both from 13 affiliated Universities and 8 non-affiliated Universities, including leaders, professors and students.
