The 3rd World Theatre Education Convention with 5th Asian Theatre Schools Festival was held successfully on Heukseok-ro Campus of Chung-Ang University, South Korea, from May 16 to 20, 2018.
The event was co-held by Chung-Ang University and Asia Theatre Education Centre (ATEC), supported by the Ministry of Education, Republic of Korea. Over 100 representatives and students from 14 member schools and 5 non-member schools attended the meetings, forums, workshops, and shows for exchange and communication.
On the afternoon of May 16, the 3rd World Theatre Education Convention with 5th Asian Theatre Schools Festival was kicked off with the opening ceremony held at the Arts Centre, Chung-Aung University. President Kim Chang-Soo of Chung-Aung University first delivered a speech, followed by Vice General Secretary Hao Rong of ATEC (then Vice President of the Central Academy of Drama) and General Secretary Xu Xiang of ATEC (then President and CPC Party Secretary of the Central Academy of Drama). Mr. Hao and Mr. Xu then presented Mr. Kim with an official certificate on behalf of ATEC to express collective gratitude and respect towards the host. Then all attendees watched the excellent performances together.
