The afternoon of May 22 witnessed the closing ceremony of the 7th Asian Theatre Schools Festival held at the Proscenium Stage Theatre of Changping Campus of the Central Academy of Drama. Representatives from participating institutions, along with leaders, faculty and students of the Central Academy of Drama, gathered together to celebrate this precious moment.

The awarding session was highlighted by the outstanding performances by teachers and students from member schools. Students of Dance Theatre from the Central Academy of Drama presented a dance drama titled ‘Spring River Tune’, showcasing the aesthetics of traditional Chinese culture. Then, students from the Shanghai Theatre Academy performed ‘Nuo I’, a piece rich in cultural heritage and historical memory. Students from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore sang an original song, ‘Don't Wanna Slow Down’, immersing the audience in the vitality and passion of youth. LASALLE College of the Arts from Singapore brought a modern dance performance titled ‘Me;mories’, where the dancers' coordinated efforts and unique dance language created a feast for both the eyes and the soul. Mr. Chittaranjan Tripathy, Director of the National School of Drama in India, surprised the audience with a musical performance, ‘Gunno Bai’, depicting a journey of a disguised busker and his inner struggle. Finally, students of Western Opera from the Central Academy of Drama performed the famous excerpt of ‘Libiamo Ne' Lieti Calici’ from Verdi's opera ‘La Traviata’, drawing a perfect conclusion to this year's festival.
