Director’s Notes
At a distance of two steps
In the line of your gaze
A spring flows
Dancing within the rainbow
From the lap of the mountains
Cool water flows
As if the nectar of life rises
From the embrace of the rocks
Keep drinking
The edge of the water calls out
A spring flows
The darkness has been engulfed by the mist
You will be free
Memories will vanish
The fragrance of your body shall be uprooted
To dust shall wither all relations
Your name shall be lost
That which you keep searching for
Since before birth - with that spontaneity
You shall receive
In one single try
At a distance of two steps
Synopsis
The play takes place in three parts. Far from Home. Outside the Home. And Inside the Home.
A Young Man, escapee from the suffocation of his house and the autocracy of Father finds himself lost in the beautiful green Valley from a dream. The Young Man meets a young woman, Bela. Her laughter like a spring and her body like the wind. He finds comfort, and love. But when faced with the proposal of wiping away all memories of the past, he gets scared. Gets scared of losing his history, his identity. His Ancestors arrive to remind him once again of his childhood. And bring with them a message from Father. They have a gift for Bela from Mother. They leave the Valley and go to the city where Bela meets Father, Mother and Family. She is unable to accept the "inevitable'. Father dies and the Young Man becomes the King. He cannot leave, he has been imprisoned by his duties. What will Bela do? Will she remain faithful to her duties of love and stay a dumb prisoner like Mother? Or leave and go back to the freedom of her Valley?
