Director’s Note

To direct the play for the festival has been an unexperienced challenge for me, and it turned out to be a process of self-reinvention. The sudden emergence of the ‘Blue Bird’ shattered my previous views on theatrical creation and provided me with new insights into how to write scripts and stage productions. The script eventually took shape from its initial adaptation, which had gone through countless revisions and setbacks to reach the final implementation. From it I see the countless sleepless nights behind every piece of work. There were many times of frustration and self-doubt, but with the encouragement and assistance of my instructor I gradually gained confidence and presented THE BLUE BIRD as it is now.

Art knows no bounds, and I will continue to embody the spirit of the ‘Blue Bird’ as I embark on my journey of artistic exploration.

Synopsis

This story is adapted from Maurice Maeterlinck's THE BLUE BIRD. Siblings make a wish for the wellbeing of their sick mother, when a light spirit appears and guides them on a journey to find the blue bird. Fueled by deep love for their mother, they set sail with companions, facing various challenges and hardships along the way. They steadfastly follow the light's instructions and eventually find the legendary blue bird, returning with hearts full of memories.
